My next Bridge Cruise is just around the corner... Australian Summer is full of opportunities.
I will be hosting Bridge Games and lessons every sea day.
How special to be offered a last-minute opportunity to have Christmas and New Year on the magnificent Queen Elizabeth. We sailed from Melbourne, around New Zealand and back again.
With our own card room, it was my pleasure to run 2 lessons a day and host a game every sea day afternoon. After 5 lessons with me, 16 of my Beginners were brave enough to play in a "Pro-Am" fun game on our last sea day. Thanks to those more experienced players for helping to make it a great success.
I was the Bridge Instructor and Director on Viking Orion cruising from Sydney to Bali. What a wonderful ship - balcony cabins with full size bathrooms and excellent food.
I had 10 tables of Beginners and 8 tables of Improvers at my daily lessons. And we enjoyed a duplicate game every sea day.
Unfortunately, my Bridge Assistant got Covid, so it was hard work for a few days. But an amazing experience overall.
I was offered a last minute gig teaching Bridge and running the sessions on Oceania Regatta cruising from Sydney to Bali. I boarded in Townsville and had a fabulous week on this luxury liner.
This is the smallest ship I have ever sailed on - with a maximum of 684 passengers.
I had a mix of players on board so ran beginner and improver lessons in the morning and duplicate and social games in the afternoon. As the weather was questionable it was fabulous to be enjoying Bridge with my fellow guests.
I was the Bridge Instructor and Director on Royal Caribbean's Ovation of the Seas cruising from Hawaii to Sydney. This is the largest ship I have ever sailed on - close to 170,000 tonnes with over 4,000 passengers. Luckily this was one of the first sailings post-Covid so we sailed only two thirds full.
There was a lot of interest in Bridge, and I held Beginner lessons over the 12 sea days with close to 100 people coming to learn or play during the cruise.
Ahmad Geybi and I won the Novice and Restricted Pairs category at the Sydney Bridge Valentine’s Day Swiss Pairs Congress in a very competitive field. We were awarded a coveted mentoring session with professional international player Liam Milne.

A perfect day to be on the harbour. Our charity event on Sunday 10 November was a fun day for all. We also raised $300 for the Country Women's Association
for disaster relief in NSW.
Thanks to the Captain and crew of Eclipse and to
Metro Travel Balmain for organising the event.
